Food and shopping
Iceland (now The Food Co)
Everyone here knows it as Iceland, which is what it used to be called; the chain now trades as The Food Co. Its shops sell British groceries, including frozen and chilled food, from Iceland, Waitrose, Co-op and other UK ranges.
Morrisons Gibraltar
A full-size British supermarket on Westside Road in Gibraltar, with a café and petrol station. Prices are in pounds, and you cross the border to get there, so take your passport or ID.
Too Good To Go
A free app where shops, bakeries and restaurants sell surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, as surprise bags at a reduced price. It has operated in Málaga province since 2019 and lists businesses in coastal towns such as Fuengirola.
Homes
idealista
Spain's best-known property portal, listing homes for sale and to rent, as well as rooms, from agencies and private owners. It is a practical way to see what is available in each town and compare asking prices.
News and safety
93.6 Global Radio
An English-language radio station based in Miraflores, Mijas Costa, on air 24 hours a day on 93.6 FM and streamed online. It carries daily local and international news plus traffic and travel updates for the coast.
Wildfire Watch
A free, unofficial app for iPhone and Android that sends notifications about reported wildfires near you and shows the fire status and resources published by INFOCA, Andalucía's wildfire service. It adds to the official channels and does not replace them: to report a fire or in any emergency, call 112.
Faith and community
Encounter Church
A multinational, English-speaking Christian church that is part of the Elim Pentecostal network. It meets on Sunday mornings at The Cazbah Live Lounge on Avenida de Jerez; check the church's website for the current time.
